PART TWO We have fed elephants before, but not quite like this. There was an information session first where we learned a lot more about elephants. Then we got to prepare their vitamins before feeding them tons of sugar cane. Then we got to take them to the pond for a bath where we got to witness one of the teenagers have a tantrum about getting out. It was an amazing adventure that created such a fond memory. #kingdomofra #travelwithkids #thailand #chiangmai #elephant Elephant Sanctuary PART ONE. Apparently my reel was too long to embed into FB, so I’m splitting it up into two. Deep inside the cafe we got to see meerkats and prairie dogs. The cafe itself is gorgeous with hand painted walls and ceilings. Then we were off to make vitamins for the elephants. #kingdomofra #travelwithkids #thailand #chiangmai We have fed elephants before, but not quite like this. So charming and and fun! #kingdomofra #travelwithkids #thailand #chiangmai #art There was a big debate for weeks on if we would do the Tiger Cave temple. It’s 1260 uneven, steep, narrow steps up the mountain to the temple. I knew my asthma would be an issue. Bodhi and I decided to give it a shot. In the rain. Which was probably a blessing because the temperature was nearly as hot, but it did make it slippery. When we got to the top (after lots of stops and rests) I decided it was worth it. What an amazing adventure with my boy. #kingdomofra #travelwithkids #thailand #krabi We have been debating for weeks on if we were going to try and attempt the 1260 uneven, narrow steps of the Tiger Cave Temple. A couple people died attempting it recently. If it hadn’t been lightly raining I probably would have passed because my asthma just couldn’t hack it in the added heat. Bodhi was happy to join me and was charged with keeping me alive. No photos on the way up because of the rain and I was already struggling. After many rest breaks we finally made it to the top and I decided it was worth it. It felt like such an achievement and the view was spectacular. Going down was a breeze and I decided it was double worth it because we had a monkey encounter. One cheeky monkey kept trying to steal my bag and kept grabbing my dress. And then the rain came down hard, but we were almost down to the bottom. No desire to do this again as days later I’m still sore, but I’m glad we braved the challenge. #kingdomofra #travelwithkids #thailand #krabi #tigercave We weren’t going to let a little rain ruin our day. It’s Thailand. It’s the rainy season. First stop, the Emerald Pool. We briefly had it to ourselves before we became the animas at the zoo. I’m sure we are in tons of photos across instagram. After our swim, we took a little hike before heading to the hot springs. #kingdomofra #travelwithkids #thailand #krabi Wat Huay Pla Kang is also known as the #kingdomofra #travelwithkids Red Temple or even the Chiang Rai Goddess because of the large, white statue of Guanyin, the Buddhist goddess of mercy on the 3 temple compound. She is absolutely stunning and even more so on the inside, which is full of more white adornments. #thailand #kingdomofra #travelwithkids #chiangrai #temple Happy 9th birthday to my favorite travel buddy!
