Oxford

We decided to take a stroll through Oxford before meeting up with our students for an official tour of the city. It was a little chilly, so when we stumble upon Paul, the aroma of coffee drew us in. It was a nice little treat to start our day.

Oxford has a definite college town feel to it, but mixed with artists and professionals. It is a walkable city and even though the chill of fall was in the air, the lushness of the trees was hanging onto summer.

As with most places in the UK, compared to our US homeland, the history is phenomenal. The memorials, architecture, and landscape all just feel as old as they are, but the maintenance and care is noticeable.

We met this sweet boy while waiting for our walking tour. It’s always a treat when we get to find a puppy to pet.

Our tour guide is a former student of Oxford and he had some inside stories for us about some of the famous writers who called this town and school home.

One of my favorite sites was Noodle’s library from the Wonka film, the Radcliffe Camera. It’s been in several films and is just a beautiful building.

Oxford was one of my favorite places to visit, but we did not stay long enough. I really would love to go back and see more. However, we should probably stay away from the doughnut shop because we really over did it! So delicious!!!
