When you have friends who are writers in the location you are visiting, it’s hard to not think of ways to see them when you are traveling with writing students. Even more so when they offer to feed you at their Cheese Shed, part of the Award Winning Nettlebed Creamery in Oxfordshire.

THE best toastie you will ever have in your life. Seriously. These lactose intolerant boys wasted no time woofing theirs down.
After stuffing ourselves on cheese and smoothies, the students went to the Creamery to get some writing instruction from British author James Scudamore. I know the students had a blast, but honestly, Bodhi was the one who won on this trip. James is such a dear and knew that the boy would be bored, so he arranged for a riding lesson at his in-laws house.

This sweet woman not only got him all dressed up, but took him on a trail ride all around the property, not just in the yard. Bodhi was thrilled!

Afterwards, he mucked the stall and helped brush and bathe his pony so she would be ready for an event the next morning. While the horses were being put up, Bodhi and I strolled around this beautiful English home and garden before going inside for tea.

Such a lovely place and even lovelier people. A person could get used to this. Alas, it was time to head to our hotel, Malmaison, for a good nights rest before exploring Oxford. Hopefully there won’t be any ghosts in this converted prison!

Did they get Bodhi already?!?!
