Anyone that knows Ira knows that he loves planning travel things, especially places to eat. When I told him I want to check out the aquarium in Plymouth, he immediately started looking up what else was there to see and do. I’m not sure if it was something he wanted to do, but I know having afternoon tea was on my list of things I wanted to do while in the UK. He found one to take us to and it was a delightful little walk to get to this super cute little place.
The little shops and the cobblestone roads are something out of a fairytale. It amazes me how old some of these places are and how they are still standing. Clearly, craftsmanship has declined over the years because the newer buildings in the USA just don’t seem to be made to last.

There are many tea houses in the UK. Some are more modern. Some are themed. I love the traditional, cozy vintage shops. The Tudor Rose was traditional, vintage and cozy. They had a kids tea as well, though Bodhi wasn’t sure about the savory sandwiches. It didn’t matter; Ira finished them for him. There is beautiful garden in the back, too, but it was a little chilly for us this particular day. This was the traditional tea experience we were looking for—a “proper” English experience with deliciously crafted food and warming English tea and cream. The tea cozy that covered pot really touched my crocheted little heart. I think I need to start making tea in a pot just so I can make a cozy for it.

The staff were nothing short of attentive and friendly. I highly recommend checking the Tudor Rose out if you are in the area.
