One of the joys of having such a lovely person to rent our flat from, is that we get lots of suggestions for things to do and see. One of the first was a short train ride to Exmouth to enjoy the beach before the school year starts and the weather gets cooler.

Our flat is perfectly situated central to two train stations allowing us easy access to travel. Plus, purchasing the suggested scooter made even our chief whiner (Bodhi) amiable to go.

The water was chilly and even though there was plenty of sun, it wasn’t quite the same as our Florida beaches. Even so, it wasn’t long before the boy was in the water.
Upon arrival of the beachfront, we found a lost and found closet which held many abandoned buckets and shovels with a sign encouraging their use like a sort of beach library. Thus began the prerequisite beach tradition of burying the boy.

Exmouth boasts being the Jurassic coast so after sweeping the sand off, we walked around in search of the dinosaur trail. It was a beautiful walk, but we were tired and hungry. We found a Fish and Chips shop which was amazing delicious and a perfect way to end our beach day.

We can’t wait to bring the students here when they arrive!
