After we dropped off the bags at the hotel, it was time to see London.
First stop, McDonald’s to feed the boy. It’s a pretty sure bet he’s hungry when he gets cranky and some American nuggets did the trick. A cold drink for mom and dad is always welcome, too.
He was even a little more compliant about taking a photo at the ‘Wild Table Of Love‘ animal sculpture In Paternoster Square. This temporary art display was supposed to be on display only until May 2023, so we consider ourselves lucky to have been able to see it.

No surprise that one of the first places in London that we would explore would be Chinatown. Seriously, how can you not smile when seeing this? Actually, I think Ira rolled his eyes at me for wanting to take a picture. I thought it was adorable.
Feeling very much like summer still, we decided it was time for a brief stop for some boba.

Chatime to the rescue! This was our first exposure to hot stores with no air conditioning. Brutal reality of how spoiled we are.
Walking through the streets was so exciting and alive. The lanterns were vibrant. Bodhi and I really want to come back and see it again at night with all the lights. We have seen pictures from Ira when he was here in the spring and it would be awesome to see it for ourselves.

After our initial stroll we decided to start our mystery murder scavenger hunt. Perhaps it was a little cheesy, and the pick up location was definitely sketchy, but the best thing about it was that it took us all over the city. We learned more about the streets and major locations of London, in addition to a real life murder mystery, but also a little about the history of places during that time. More on that another time.
After all that walking, it was high time for an ice cream break. We found this Candy Cafe on a side street and decided that this was the perfect treat. Bodhi demolished the waffle with fruit and ice cream in no time flat.

Don’t let Bodhi’s face mislead you. He loved it, but he was not happy about walking more. Plus, we were getting closer to being up for 24 hours straight.

The popularity of this area is incredible and we will definitely be back to visit again.
